Customer Reviews

“I use KastKing on all my gear for fishing here in Southern California. With a short topshot, this braid has cut thru lots of kelp while fighting yellowtail off my kayak. I’ve used this braid when it was just called Eposeidon and not KastKing, and I’ll keep using it for as long as I fish. For the quality at the price, it cant be beat. I started off using this line on my surf reels but now all my reels have it. I use 20lb on my sabiki, 50lb for my Sealine SHA X-40 and 65lb on my TLD 15. Best line I’ve ever used, hands down.”

“I’ve been using KastKing superpower braid for about three years now. It is so tough and amazingly durable. I continually have fish wrap me around pylons from the pier structures i fish and i always am able to pull fish after fish off the pylons with no problems what so ever. This line has changed my fishing life!! I rarely ever break any fish off anymore and the braid is extremely affordable. No more spending the big bucks on power pro and spider wire! Greatest plus, they have pink braid…and its been tested, pink braid catches more fish!”

“This is the third time I have bought this line of braid, after going through the ringer twice with it, I have dedicated to it and picked up one spool of each color for me and my fishing crew. The line has proven surprisingly strong and durable. I fish out of Hawaii, primarily on the shoreline, and have a lot of rocks and reef to deal with. The line has handled multiple instances where I have got stuck up on the rocks and needed to apply sizable force to turn a fish out of a hole, and the line handles each time. I run a hook line off of the braid that is of the same test, and with the exception of one time, the line has always broke at the mono hook line, while the braid stood strong. Saltwater and fishing from the shore puts your line to the test, and this braid has passed with flying colors in my experience. Solid price point for a solid product. Me and all my crew have been stoked on our new pickup of line, and it is showing as much promise as the last couple times I have tried this braid. Very happy to have all the color variation to be trying out too.”

Best Braided Fishing Line - PowerPro Spectra Fiber Braid

Customer Reviews

“… Power Pro Spectra Braided is the only fishing line I use on all of my spinning rods. Excellent line quality and cast-ability is what this line is (and has been) all about. My most recent purchase was 50lb line, to rig up for Tarpon season here on the west coast of Florida. I used this same line for the past few years on my Tarpon rods and I’ve got to say, its unbeatable. If you’ve ever had a Tarpon on the line, you know that line integrity is of the upmost importance. I have had a full grown Tarpon wrap itself up in this line, and it still never broke… and those scales are like razors to other fishing lines. Even when using the lighter versions of this line when I’m fishing the docks, this line holds up to the abuse. Snook love to run around dock pilings that are covered in barnacles, and I don’t even sweat about it anymore when I’ve hooked up with one on this line. Obviously, you don’t want a fish grinding your line on barnacles, but if it happens, this line gives you some breathing room. I’ve pulled 32+ inch Snook out of barnacle infested docks with the 15lb version of this line and some good .
From my experience, if your not using this line when fishing, I can honestly say that you are putting yourself at a severe disadvantage. I’ve been using it for years in the harshest environments that Florida can offer, against the biggest and baddest fish, and I cant think of one time that this line disappointed me.”

“… It’s hard to get too excited about fishing line, but I will say that this stuff is pretty incredible. After listening to the recommendation of many of my angler friends, I picked up a spool of 30lb. Power Pro braid. With this being my first experience with braid, I was shocked at how small (thin) the line was. In fact, I feel like that is the only part where I went wrong in the purchase….I should have bought 50 or 65lb instead. Not that I’m having any issues with 30lb (I’m ripping my lures out of stuff I never could before because the line just won’t break! – unless it get sheared by something), but seeing how small this stuff is, I don’t see any reason to go with a lighter weight. PLUS I’m told the heavier lb braid tends to cast better with fewer backlashes. The other thing that I love about this braid is how well it communicates movement. You feel EVERYTHING with this line. I can immediately tell if my spinner baits are spinning properly. I can tell if my crank baits are actually swimming or are just being dragged sideways because it got tangled up in something. Mono feels almost strange to me now (too much stretch). Look, I know there are appropriate uses for each type of line, but over all I find that I prefer using braid over mono or fluorocarbon.

My conclusion is that this will be the only braid I ever buy. It’s super strong, sits on the water well, casts great, and communicates what’s happening on the end of the line like no other line I’ve used. Big thumbs up!”

“… First and foremost, this line is crazy sensitive. You can feel a minnow fall off your jig with a quality graphite rod. When a walleye inhales the bait, you feel it and can set the hook before he spits it out. I can not stress how this helps on light bites.

The yellow high vis is great for detecting twitches in the line too. As the jig is sinking you can really see if a strike occurs while the bait is floating down. Many times you will see the twitch and you give the fish the business and reel him up to the net.

I don’t think this is the line Jesus used, because it is not perfect. With the ultra sensitivity, there is a trade off. There is no stretch at all. Why should you care? After you rip the the hook set a few times and all you get is fish lips you will quickly find out you need a soft tip rod with this program. It does take a bit to get using this line. Also, if you get snagged, do not grab the line and try to pull it out. It will slice through your skin.

Now, the biggest benefit to me is the thin diameter. Your cranks will dive deeper, current in a river will have less effect. The thinner diameter cuts through the water. Nothing worse than having your line past a 45 degree angle in the river. You will get more snags and lose sensitivity.

Last but not least, use a mono backing. This will slip if you put it directly on the spool when you set the hook. Also, this is crazy expensive line so no need in spending money on line you will never use at the bottom of the spool.”

Best Monofilament Fishing Line

The best monofilament fishing line is Hi-Seas Grand Slam Monofilament fishing line. Hi-Seas fishing line is the top seller and  rated #1 for best mono fishing line for 2018. It is superior to most big brand mono lines like Berkley, Stren and KastKing. I really do like KastKing though.

Why is Hi-Seas Grand Slam The Best Monofilament Fishing Line?

Hi-Seas Grand Slam mono fishing line is ideal for both freshwater and saltwater. The reason Grand Slam is the best monofilament fishing line is because it has a high abrasion resistance along with a high strength knot. Knots are super important in fishing. If it fails, you loose your fish. Abrasion resistance is super important when fishing for big game fish….Bluegills…not so much. Big game fish really put a strain on fishing tackle and mostly the fishing line. Monofilament fishing line will rub against the rod guides under extreme pressure, especially the tip when fighting big game fish. If the line is not tough, it will wear and weaken.

Hi-Seas Grand Slam mono fishing line also features great line sensitivity and control which helps you move a lure and detect a strike. It also enables you to make super long and accurate casts. Whether you use a baitcasting, spinning, trolling or spincasting reel, Grand Slam mono fishing line will give you maximum performance in both freshwater and saltwater on 1 lb trout to 400 Bluefin Tuna.

Hi-Seas Grand Slam rated Best Monofilament Fishing Line 2018
