Abu Garcia Black Max Spinning Reel – Any Good?

Is the Abu Garcia Black Max spinning reel any good?

Let’s start off with the price tag of the Abu Garcia Black Max spinning reel which is very low…about mid $30 range. I’ve read quite a few reviews and watched about 20 videos and it seems to be a good spinning reel. One bad  review was because of the small plastic line holder was broken. The owner did not contact Abu Garcia customer service though. I would. They will make it right and probably replace the entire reel. Abu Garcia customer service is great.

Here is a short feature video on the Abu Garcia Black Max spinning reel. You will get a good idea of how the features benefit you.

Abu Garcia Black Max Spinning Reel

I am a spinning guy and most likely will get on of the Black Max spinning reels to try. I just can’t say no to $30 to try a new reel. If it was $100, I would pass. The features are good and beneficial. I love the graphite body and rotor. Graphite is super strong, durable and impervious to corrosion. It’s not only good for rods anymore.

The reviews I read and saw in videos were positive PLUS Abu Garcia customer service is impeccable. They will make things right. I have nothing to loose. If I don’t like the reel, I can return it for a full refund to Amazon.com. If it has any issues, Abu Garcia will send me a new one asap. It’s just a “no-brainer”. I’ll most likely put it on my Ugly Stik and try it on bass.
